Recently, I saw a documentary about childhood hunger in the US.  About 1 in 5 kids go hungry.  How much of a problem is this immediately, and what implications does this have for the country?

Forget the gap between the rich and the poor... the gap we should really be focusing on is the gap between the hungry and the fat! xP

Seriously though, I do think we would have enough food for everyone if our portions weren't so high.

That's probably the case, not only for the US, but globally.

Just google 'food waste' and you get the wiki article, for example.

While 1 in 5 children go hungry, about 1 in 5 children are obese. Link.

Its all about the money money, money...

there is no short of food in USA. the problme is the poor families, who, when dont have money, soppused by your gov' to, basicly, die in quitely.
if a structer building labor man, who work realy hard, break is leg, from wher he will get 5000$? and he is not working at this time. so he get broke, and in the best case his kids go to foster houses.

am i right?
