Ignore the way the title is spelled. I'm persnickety about words and totally cribbing the content of this post from one of my earlier threads. Project Paint Brush is a discussion thread hosted by Gantic (and sponsored by the nonexistent GantiCorp.) This will be a discussion about the AMW and Amwians as a whole. This includes anything and everything AMW. I am hoping to get some productive discussion about ideas and learn about perspectives.

Discussion will be on various topics and may changed weekly, biweekly, however long a discussion needs. This will mostly (or most likely) be about ideas and perspectives.

Now the important bit: You are tasked with painting a picture of the above poster and/or any previous poster, but you can only use one color. What color do you chose?

Please keep posts relevant. Posts should be relevant to the current discussion or a previous discussion.

Responses should be constructive. While we'd all like to be frank, there is a line between tactful and blunt. Keep in mind that not everyone is of the same disposition or age.

Also keep in mind that we're all amateurs (unless there are a few professionals among us). Nevertheless, each opinion carries the same weight regardless of whether you disagree or not or how much you admire or despise someone. Please consider how something applies to you and not blindly accept or reject advice or opinion. An opinion is never a fact even if everyone thinks the same thing.

If you have any ideas for future discussions, leave a comment on my profile. Meanwhile, consider, discuss, learn!

I would have to go with blue for you Gantic. Not just because you are a mod and your posts are always blue. You seem to be a go with the flow guy. You do what you want(within reason) and see where it ends up. Then you evaluate it and change course if you have too, like a river.

Well, blue is a prime color, good as any I suppose.

Darn.

Well, for Gantic, I am going to agree with Daleks, but perhaps not entirely for the same reasons. Yes, there is a degree of free-will, go-with-the-flowness about Gantic, a calm, collected feel, but also the negatives of the colour, the cold, distant demeanour. I have always been a bit intimidated by you, Punbun, you are hard to read, more so than most people on the internet, especially with your mastery of puns and double meanings and vague, subtle details... and I think it somewhat scares me. But you are also the goddarn mod tornado, you are readily there and you make amusing topics and even better commentary.
So, yes, a blue.

This, to be exact. It seems fitting, and it is a good colour to line out and shade a white rabbit, which I guess is all I can draw you as.
If I could make a gradient, it would probably go from there, over a brighter, truer blue and into a warmer, darker and more grey toned blue, but that would be well beyond the point.

As for Daleks, I might be a little too inspired by the armatar, he is wearing, as I would go with a greenish grey, much like the dino in the armatar, but obviously with a green tint. Perhaps much like the daleks of fandom. Not a bad colour, its much like some of the green in army wear, and the associations to those are usually loyalty and security, so it can't be the worst of colours.
Not to mention you can seem a little bitter and grimdark (which is quite nice, can't take on all the optimists on my own), so, yeah.

Santi_, I don't know much about you these days, so I can't say. The initial thought was red, orange, something fitting for your armatar, those aggressive, fiery colours, but then your reply ruins it entirely. It's not a bad reply, it's just without interest of engagement in a perfectly well discussion. So a grey. The undecided monotone that I love, but without the purity of the shade. Perhaps blended with those reds I thought of before, making either colour dirty like water used for cleaning brushes.
It's not a bad, it's just without glow. Some might not like it, others will appreciate the shade for what it is and what it can be used for.

Yup.
Though, I don't like painting much, nor am I a fan of monocolouring or same-colour gradients. If I was asked to draw anyone, and colour only use one colour, I would use black, do the lineart and simple shadows and keep it at that. The world is too colourful and nuanced to plot into a single colour, and the same goes for people. Swatches, perhaps, three or so colours and the ability to blend them, that would be a lot more my type of painting.

So, as such, of course I am going to ignore the prime topic and expand it to my needs.

I don't know you at all really Santi_ so I have to go with a white. You are a clean slate that can form any color.
Cenere
Finally, I can do Cen because he posted on the thread.

Ok. I would have to go with a dark yellow for you. You had to be a dark color just because when I see you talking to some people on AG you seem sorta down all the time. And you like complaining, your reasons for complaining are good though but complaining I still see as dark. Now for the yellow. I think you were a good mod and you did well for the community. You helped out a lot. Under your complaining and depressed self is a bright interior.
Sorta like this color:

I believe this is what I envision Cenere as a color:

I've occasionaly seen you around the community, I think of you as open and presentable, an orange. Yet in the WoM, you put on an exasperated demeanor. Dulling down the light. I've seen you as inviting, yet somehow uninterested. Not sure how to describe it, but it sure as heck is interesting whenever I meet you.

Also, thanks for the in-depth analysis of my persona. I'm always interested in what others think of me.

Daleks, I'll try what I can.

It's a bit pale, only because I've never had the oppurtunity to meet you. The blue is of your pleasent/calm presence. Sorry, but that's all I can honestly say about you.

Murasaki, I've seen you quite a bit, usually here in the AMW.

A bright yellow suits your happy and excited nature. But your haikus are occasionaly meaningful and deep. Which earns the slightly darker color tone.

How does this work? I still don't get it!

Post an image of a color which represents the above user. If you wish, you can also choose to do the same with anyone else who posted earlier. Unless I don't entirely understand this, I believe this is how the thread works.

The original question did not limit the number of colors and instead asked which color you would pick first. Then I thought, "No, that makes it too easy for scenery."

How does this work? I still don't get it!

Wouldn't be a legitimate Gantic thread without one of these posts. You choose a color you might use if you were to paint a picture of a previous poster in this thread. You don't necessarily have to post the color itself, but it might help in visualization.

daleks is a red brassy color because daleks. It's not a normal Dalek color but daleks! A steampunk color.

No matter what, Cenere will always be cherry chocolate chip ice cream. Cenere is the color of dark chocolate. Semi-sweet and semi-bitter. A deep rich color as well as flavor. It's not a color that pops but it still holds attention. Throw in a nice claret to mix in for another deep rich color flavor.

Santi_ is new and hangs around Forum Games and I haven't been around most of the Forum Games much so it's a fresh green color, bit on the paler side until things are clearer.

murasaki9 is the color red, not red red but off red. Upbeat lively attitude full of youthful innocence.

Light blue for Gantique. You have to be the calmest, most withdrawn person I've met on the internet; peaceful. Your commentary is interesting and thoughtful. You also remind me of Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen.

Orange for Daleks. From what I've seen you are very friendly, enjoy socializing, and not afraid to speak your mind.

I haven't seen much from Santi, so light grey. A neutral colour.

Dark blue for Cenere. I read your posts in a gloomy tone, however they are usually informative and discussing ideas.

Purple for Murasaki. I mainly see you in the AMW posting haikus and you seem spunky and emotional.
