Last time I checked you can't foresee the future. From the AG3 armatars thread: Third, we are still discussing whether we want to allow custom armatars in the future, because of copyright and licensing issues that will come up from that, so that idea is ON HOLD.

Cen has lobbied the admins last winter for another Armatar Contest, but it fell apart. So my guess would be almost certainly no in the near future.

That is outdated information. cormyn said this in the Armatar discussion thread:
Folks, for the last time, NO CUSTOM ARMATARS WILL BE ALLOWED ON AG3.

That's also outdated considering he doesn't work there anymore and people have the ability to change their minds. Besides, that was probably to shut up those bringing it up all the time even though he mentioned it's on hold. I don't think they'd rule out a good idea such as custom armatars completely.

Either way, I don't think AG3 will begin with custom armatars, and I'm sure they won't be allowed in AG2.
Also, I think this is enough discussion. The point of the thread was whether a custom armatar could be created or not. For the purposes of this thread and AG2, the answer is no.

It's pretty silly that you can't choose your own icon. I'm guessing the only reason you can't is that otherwise points would be useless and no one would try to get them.

There are only 2 big problems I see with having custom Armatars: people could steal other peoples' and there would be no real need for AP. Otherwise, the introduction of a custom Armatar option would be really useful.
