the atmosphere most likely already melts it before reaching earth.(how do you get the meteor safly onto ground to destroy the giant.

The people pollute the planet severely and that causes a hole in the atmosphere so it goes through it to destroy the giant
next is meteor

a missle is lauched and destroys the meteor.

I shoot the missle and it blows up.
