I love all of the characters associated with Kirby but also really like Mr Game and Watch.

Link is the character which most begginers go to because of his easy to use moves, and he is not a bad character overall. i personally use fox, because i like his speed and ranged attacks, but it really all depends on personal preference because most characters are pretty equally effective if you know how to use them.
