a lot of passwords seem to be based on dates. Your birth date, your wedding date, etc.

As per the Password Security checking website listed on page 4:
The first password I ever made would take 6 Billion years to hack.  (No bull.)
The most recent password I made would take 12 Trillion years.  (Still no bull.  Apparently I'm that good.)
Dad's password: 19 seconds.  And he still won't change it.  -_-

The most recent password I made would take 12 Trillion years.

You actually used it or you were just testing to see how far the site would go?
If you used it; must be fairly complicated to remember.

Actually used.  And it's pretty darn simple to remember too.  While I'm not going to give out my secrets, I will say that two of the included elements are personal relevance that would be meaningless to anyone else and stuff that no one would really think of.  So, yeah.

I'll admit that I have used certain variations in the past for stupid things that I was only going to use once or twice, but I've never just used "password" as a password.

I saw what Megan did to Josh's dad's email. I don't want that to be me.

I'm here to prove you wrong. I've never had any password that is either simple, or somehow relates to me or my life. my passwords consists of something else entirely, but I will admit one thing; lately I've been using a master password for most of my passwords, as do most people. I'm actually surprised by the ratio of people who use only one password for everything that has a password!
Though when I was younger, I remember I had my own specially designed password for each individual item, but I don't see the point anymore to memorizing every single one.
