This way it's a bit more organized because you can find all the winning poems in the same place, instead of having to dig through mod comments. Same for digging through the thread. Also, if a mod is keeping up with the contest anyways, they would know when the contest ended and where to find the comment. It's all a matter of there being a comment to give a merit.
