Try making smooth and varied lines for your outlines and other line work. That's the biggest thing I can think of, because otherwise, they are all good drawings.

Lessee.

Hermit:
Your lineart is sketchy, which is a bit sad, because it rarely does something good for your art. In this case, a good bold line would most likely enhance idea of strength in the character, and make the tree look like it's stable and robust. The amount of detail to the staff, when everything else, beside the beard and hair, is left blank also does not add to the drawing, while the overall pose and indeed the hair and bread looks quite good.

Cheetah anthro:
Again the wonky lineart, which, in this case, does more than make the character look feeble. Due to the way it's shaded, the lineart should not be very prominent, but with the sketchy quality of it, it's a little offputting.
Anatomy derps, happens.
Shading looks nice, could be more defined considering the light source, but there is nothing wrong with it, as it is, and it looks quite good. So does the design of the character and the clothing.

Bird the first:
Lineart (Is this getting annoying yet?). Nice design, a bit too gooselike a head for my tastes, to be honest, but birds are hard to properly anthropomorph. Clothes might be a little under-structured, but for a general design, it gets the point across.

Bird the second:
I do like this better than the above, mostly due to the change of the head (it did a lot). Shading calls for better structure in the clothing as well. Birds are still hard to anthropomorph, but it looks alright.
The wing/cape thing should probably be corrected, however.

More stuff 1:
Not very clear, but nice looking for a thumbnail. Nice design, the colour scheme is pleasant and it might be an interesting peace if done as a full scale painting in the same colour scheme.

More stuff 2:
Is that an anthro bronze dragon? Or is it cobber... My DnDragons is a bit rusty. Either way, nice structure, nice colours, bit blotchy I guess. With a sunset/sunrise to the left and the colours playing on the character, a full painting of this would be astonishing to look at.

Those are real awesome stuff you got there bro. What program did you draw this on, or did you draw this by hand? I'm still getting the hang of photoshop though...

Love your drawings.

I use Mypaint and Gimp for most of my drawings. I draw most of them in Mypaint then do some image tweaking in Gimp, I should probably learn more about gimps tools but I tend to try and keep my drawing speed under 3 hours.

Lol yea need to work on that aspect of my drawing skills. I tend to start it then say "!@*#$%@&^#^*" then move to the next aspect of drawing. I guess I hate erasing all the little bumps

Is that an anthro bronze dragon? Or is it cobber

Its suppose to be brass but I over did it on the yellow tone I think

Well Onto another I forgot to post< I tried my hand at landscape speed painting Oo this is my second attempt, took bout 2 hours the first one came out horrible due to lack of color selection skills anyways there was no line art in this just globs of color whittled down to shapes with shading and textures

Can't remember if you use a tablet, but perhaps you should try out Sai for lineart? It has a stabiliser, which works well with tablets, and if you don't, the vexel function is a nice touch. Then the lineart won't be a problem.
Either that, or get a steadier hand.

Eh, as mentioned, DnDragons be rusty. Still looks nice.

What was the bird character for, btw?

The landscape looks nice, though the light shining down from above is waaay too white for such a scene. Besides that, I don't think the colour selection is all that bad. A bit less opaque and white on the light, and it would have been a fine afternoon in the forest-scene.

Someone said they should try drawing a one of their DnD characters I inquired as to what it was and it was a Kenku, which is a humanoid Crow I think

...and Something along the lines of this lighting?

Well, more like this:
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/5628/njvbfjdfbd.jpg

Of course, this is a rather crude edit, but I hope you get the idea.
It warms up the scenery a little, the light does not seem quite as in your face as the white light does, and the scene seems more friendly somehow...
A summer evening in the forest, more or less.

It might do well going through a duplicate layer-colour dodge setting run instead, however, so the scene lightens up, but without the lazy light effect. But it's really just a matter of playing around.

Yea I see it is probably because of the refernces I was using that the light came out white, for example these

three

anyone feel like making a art thread dedicated to drawing the most absurd D&D character concepts. Poor monster characters get no respect

I like that one Hec! I think you nailed the facial expression, couldn't do it much better. Right arm's foreshortening looks good and the hand looks good. I'm a little iffy on the left arm, the forearm seems a tad large, but not by much. And it looks like less attention was given to the rest of him, and I'll leave it at that.

Well the concept is he is a half devil troll, trolls tend to have "gangly" arms least that was the description, was going for troll like body proportions, then ontop of that devil like anatomy, thought I did include certain aspects of a the DnD game, when I roll the ability scores I got a pretty high strength modifier so I bumped up the muscle mass on him. Trolls arms ten to nearly reach to the ground, still this was a first attempt at a full body, got to work on the wings and such.

I would like to make the character clad in heavy armor wielding a Rhoka which is sort of a serrated twin blade sword. even went as far as improving the natural attacks of trolls. They have this rend ability, basically tear apart a create with its claws, the game requires 2 normally but I found stuff to boost that single attack, basically he can rip apart fors with either his sword and his free hand, which is clawed.

Been finding DnD has stirring my imagination when it comes to character design. Though the games i am playing these characters in the other players think im a bit crazy with the whole multi racial aspects of a character, they all focus on combat abilities and use basic character information. I go out and find ways to make entire new races for a character just for the fun of saying, Elves, dwarves, and humans are boring to play...how about a gigantic humanoid with four arms and two heads :P all of the normal races tend to be on the small side and I want to play monsters, see that dragon over there? Wham smash it with a 200 lb hammer!

Should his lip be light green all the way to the front of his face or is it shadow? So a minor color adjustment there if it's not supposed to be that way.

Like you said, go over the lines and maybe clean up a few? Idk.

It looks like you should do something with the shading and colour of the eyes to make them look more spherical and wet and so that they stand out a little bit more from the body.

The color on the back needs more contrast or something, I can't tell exactly, but something so it does not bleed into the background so much.

Okay, I said a lot, but it's very impressive as is and a really solid piece. Great work! I think the shadow is really cool and I really like the colour choice. Better than any drawing I could do lol. Also, don't forget to add your signature in the bottom right corner or something, unless you don't want to, it's not my choice lol.
