I'm not saying the threads aren't going to be locked if they get out of hand or are worded wrong or anything, just that, well, AG's pg13, and it hasn't stopped anyone from having discussions about adult themes, as long as, again, they are not going to be complete morons about it.

Really, according to the mods this isn't a PG13 Site. They think that a small child under the age of thirteen will enter the site, look at the "bad stuff"(drinking, porn, weed, smoking.) in the community and their mind will be forever evil(?)

What would the use be for having a adult section? Talking about their fun time our drinking with buddies?

If a child was going to look at that thread, chances are they'd have googled it prior to looking at it, anyway.

It doesn't matter. The mods cannot allow it because they could get sued or somthing.

And you have to have developers MAKE the games... ;P

Not games...forum section

The mods cannot allow it because they could get sued or somthing.

All they'd need is a lil pop-up that says something along the lines of asking if you are over 18..that takes away legal obligation (like other forums/websites...placing something that states you MUST be 18 or over is giving fair warning to anyone wanting to click on it that it isn't a section for kiddies and they do not have control over what one would see...enter at own risk)

The mods will not get sued, they have allowed all of that stuff before, and if a little kid goes here, cries over the horrible things they have seen and their parents come complaining, they will be asked why they are trying to get a pg13 site to babysit their kid instead of themselves doing something about it.
So, honestly, no.
As for whether the staff would allow that, considering they would be the ones getting sued, they would get problems with all their users if they carved to the whining of an adult that truly should not have been given a child to care for, if they are going to blame stuff on a website. It's in the rules, everything here is mature and clean, and if you let your seven year old browse the internet alone, not only are you lucky you hit AG, you should also get slapped upside your head for not supervising your kid when they use the computer, because there is a lot of worse things out there.

With that rant, again, we have had those threads, they went well. We could easily be sitting here discussing porn in the public eye, or whether it is good to look it up, but instead we are accusing mods of being babysitters because they care a whole lot that the staff of the site they volunteer for will be sued over something ridiculous they could easily win, and wondering why we can't have mature conversations on these forums...

Honestly, I think this is a bad idea. What's the point? Do you have a really strong desire to drink about your time smoking and drinking? Go to another forum, we don't need a mature section.

It isn't about having a strong desire to do so...it is about just having a section where one doesn't have to constrain oneself so as to not offend the kiddies

Umm...if you haven't noticed, an adult section wouldn't increase the number of adult players.

And if you hadn't also noticed, AG is full of more kids rather then adults, so...

Spend some time around the forums. Yes, most members here still wouldn't qualify as "adults"...but most of us still are mature enough (seemingly) to be able to handle a forum like that

@pangtongshu:

Well, sure. Yeah, I'm pretty sure a lot of the members here are mature, it's just that, well...AG just seems more like an adolescent place rather then a true adult place. An adult section in AG would just seem...off.

Must of us are. and should have access to something like that. But just the fact that people are creating guides on how to get people to comment on your profile so they can collect more AP shows that a lot of people on here aren't. Knowing them, I think we can all know what will happen if there's an age limit. They'll fake it and post there then go back to writing AP collecting forums.

We only see the active Forumers but not the other thousands of other accounts who only play for now. So we cant plausibly make a good judgement call.

I just found this site, and one of the first things it did when I registered was to ask for my birth date. - so AG would know how old it's Users are - it just needs to examine its database for that information. Through that use, it can set up separate Adult only boards - not just to discuss "Adult" type info that the original poster suggested, but to comment on the current crop of excellent games to hit the market - all of which have a MATURE Rating......

One thing I worry about on these game sites is sickos trolling for young kids, especially in Chat rooms - I'm sure you all know what I mean.

Is there a way to stop it? I guess we really have to police ourselves - if we see something odd going on, we should copy the Chat Log and send it to someone in Charge. (been there, done that).
