Who is the greatest president ever?
I think it is probably F.D.R, the man who led America out of the depression, and through most of the war. He was the man who made America the greatest nation on Earth.

Abraham Lincoln for his tremendous leadership perhaps. The old greats. Why not Washington?

America isn't the greatest nation on earth at any rate. Sure, you have the biggest military, and economy (not for long), 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 34th/50th in infant mortality, third in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports.

It's called nationalism nicho, and how do we still have the biggest economy? Also, why are there two rankings for infant mortality?

As for who the greatest president is, I say Washington, as he stepped down even though he could have easily got reelected a second time.

Teddy Roosevelt by far.

He was a cowboy, a soldier, a conservationist, and a hero. In short, he was practically the definition of a 20th century renaissance man. He was the man that began forming our modern government by creating programs to help with conservationism, modern military techniques, international relations, monopoly-busting, and everything in between.

He's also on Mt. Rushmore. :D

It's called nationalism nicho

Nationalism =/= the best. Loving your country doesn't directly influence the stats of your country relative to the rest.

and how do we still have the biggest economy?

Don't believe everything you hear in the news. Just because your economy isn't doing as great as it could be doesn't mean it's bad. Compared to the rest of the world it's still pretty prominent. Our biggest competitor is probably China.

Also, why are there two rankings for infant mortality?

Ties with other countries?

the UN has it usually right of over CIA factbook.
the UN gets it's numbers directly from the countries where CIA does not get everything directly.

Washington did become the first president based upon his prior valours, but *as* president, what did he oversee that completely overshadowed the likes of Roosevelt, Roosevelt, Wilson, and Lincoln?

Throwing my vote in for the second Roosevelt. He is the reason why so many Americans have such a deeply-felt closet passion for Socialism.

gotta love sarcasm.

Lincoln gets my vote for best president because he preserved the nation.  "A house divided cannot stand" - such a great foreshadow on today's America.
