I saw both the movies. :3
I'll admit it, though - for the musical version of the movie, I cried - two, three times, I think? I remember crying when Javert committed suicide and at the end when Jean Val Jean died. I also can't forget when Fantine was abused.
A friend of mine went to London to see the concert version. I would say I may have been a little jealous. I've seen two of the concert versions - 10th and 25th, I want to say? But I never saw a stage production. I still want to read the book, but haven't the time to do it.
Javert wasn't very well cast, since Russel Crowe seems pretty chunky for the time even for an inspector, and it seemed like he changed a lot of the notes to better fit his range, which kind of disappointed me. I still cried, though.
Hugh Jackman was alright. I didn't like the carriage scene on the way to Paris... I don't remember ever hearing that song before. It was kind of bland, in my opinion.
