It's not that important. Out of all the features they could add to the site, this isn't near the top, but it has been suggested numerous times.

Yes, it would be convenient in some instances, but they're probably working on other things at the moment. The last time I heard about this idea it was under consideration and could still be.

A year to a year and a half ago, when Cormyn (an administrator) was around. He'd update us about everything and discuss ideas.

Apple already came up with this idea.
It takes a while for them to be able to get all the admins to agree on something, so it could still be under consideration.

Yep, I wouldn't know of the current status, but if you want to know something about it you can ask Ferret. They probably have all these ideas written down somewhere.
