Blackjack time! Crap, someone else is playing cards. I need to find another deck. Make me do so much work, seriously. I hope you read the rules on cards (previous AllPlayers message on GM Sheet). Anyway, Vichtor gives you 12 chips: five 1’s, five 2’s, one 5 and one 10 (adds up to 30 GC).

You arrive at Flatwater Lake. It’s a rather large lake, with a thin forest surrounding the other side of it. This side of the lake has a smooth sandy beach that would look much better in daylight. To the left is a small cabin with a smoking chimney. A rowboat is tied loosely to a short dock.

Matt here. I have a college midterm tomorrow and I have studied exactly 0 hours. I have another one on Thursday. The new GM Sheet will be out tomorrow afternoon. Also, I just (finally) finished sketching and coloring a character you're going to meet at Castle Terrus. Why only one? Because this is the coolest character in the entire realm of Terra Novus.

Story:

You return to the White Forest.  Again, it is a wide forest filled with trees. Everything is green except the tree bark, which is bright white. To one side is a long hedge that you can’t get through. Ahead is a signpost. (You may return to the Castle or travel anywhere else from here).

The elves give you a funny look, as though you’re speaking in another language. “The Market, with everyone else. We are having a fair today and all the sellers are out and about.” He looks away, as though the conversation has officially ended (The Market includes a store for every Class, a General Store and a Bargain Bin for trading stuff in for fast cash).

The white box is a small metal case with a latch. It has a red splash of blood painted on it to symbolize that it is a med kit. He takes it and wraps himself in gauze, applying a health tonic and some other health-related items. He stands up and stretches carefully. “Many thanks for that. I think perhaps I should be more careful with bears in my house. Couldn’t get to my weapon in time and got the worst of it.” He points to a very large axepike standing in a corner.

You arrive at Floor 3. In the very center is a very thick circular column with a door on it (locked). There are two other doors (one on the right and one on the left) and, strangely, a keyhole on the other side of the column.

You enter a curved room (you are very near the top of the tower now). On the walls of the room, to your right and left, are large stone statues of robed warriors. One has a chain and the other has a staff.

The outer wall is only about ten feet away from you. In front of you is a table with several objects on it.

In the center of the table is an hourglass. In front of it is a scroll with the words "To begin this puzzle, start the sands of time" On each end of the table, in a short metal tripod, is a glowing orb. The on to your left is yellow and the one on the right is green. The hourglass is upside-down, indicating that it needs to be flipped.

(I'm particularly excited about this room)

I run in, grab the axepike, and hack at the bear with it

You open the door and are faced with a very large Red Bear. The axepike, to your dismay, is in the corner on the other side of the room. The bear turns as you open the door and stares at you with blazing eyes. It lets out a roar, then attacks!

I tell Selphy to keep the rhythm (and the poison arrows) and if the scorpy gets too close, to smash it with the bow while I do the same.
