These people lived after Christ was born.

I would guess...Cicero. Aurelius came to mind as he wasn't known for his philosophy in his day, but he was born after Christ, and he didn't teach.

Was he a direct student of a person who made a religion or philosophy?
Was he a well known philosopher?
Did he invent any contraptions or devices?
Did he introduce any new formulas or ideas?

Remember..philosophy isn't the only major thing about him

Was the guy around during the Qin or Han dynasty eras?

I can only find like one thing connecting his most famous work to legalism..and the source barely does so, from what it seems.

It matters not in finding out who he is, though.

Like I said..he was around some time before 500BCE
