Is it Thespis? I mean, he wrote plays, and he was born right before the start of the 5th century, around 60 years before Plato is born.

It's Heraclitus. He died around 60, he was bearded, he was a writer, he was born in Ephesus, which is now in Turkey, and he died in 475 BC, where Plato was born in 428 BC. Or around that time. My Answer is:

Heraclitus

I do not deny using Wikipedia. I first had to estimate around 60 years before around Plato's birth, getting 488, though no Greek Writers were born then. I then went through other trivial pursuits, eventually stumbling upon the once Greek Ruins of Ephesus. I found that it was located in Turkey now. I searched up Greek Writers born then. I found Heraclitus.

Well, I proved it better than that guy. He just said Heraclitus, while I gave detailed information about him. So there. Didn't even see his post before now.

Born about 40 years after Pindar.
Not one of the 9 lyric poets.

Actually, it's apparently Euripides. He even died in Macadonia.

Neither.

He even died in Macadonia.

Didn't die age ~60, wasn't a playright (at least not on Wiki's list).

Probably final hint:
He's on this page.
