the greatest musical country or island in the world should not miss this list.
i'm talking about jamaica of course ^^

here is some byron lee. playing calypso music
or what about Lord Messam. he's making mento music. originally from jamaice and the ground for ska and reggae music aand everything that has come from there.
speaking of ska, that started of whit "sound systems" in kingston 1950. that started whit people like prince buster and in the 60's whit names like jackie mittoo. later also known as the 1st wave of ska. (there are 4)
and we all know of course bob marley. how could i miss him in this list about jamaican music? after all he made reggae spread across the world.
when rocksteady came from the ground in mid 70's whit the wailers and The Clarendonians
DJs on the island went toasting these hits but also the ska and reggae tunes that was more populair at that moment. well actually did king tubby a electronics repairman, invente how to mix music. and 1 day forgot to put the vocal lines on the tape he presented to some1 (forgot who it was (some businessman)) that initially was the birth of dub (no not dub-step thats something els. just dub) but those DJs from earlier started to say stuff by themself while playing his music and ripped the vocals of ska and reggae music aswell. wich then turned out to become a whole genre of it's own again. whit DJs like Sir Lord Comic, King Stitt and Count Matchuki called DJs and toasting. it only lasted a decade or 2 tho.

ow and yea today we have shaggy and some other from jamaica... just saying.

I think he was referring to the AG demographic, not the music industry as a whole. Considering the fact that AG has a large American demographic... yeah.

I'm gonna go with Niki and the Dove. They are a synthpop group from Sweden.

Die Atzen, hands down.
And possibly Koza Mostra, but I haven't listened to a lot of their songs.

I'm gonna go with Sigur Ros. I have a lot of favorite asian pop bands but I doubt they are widely accepted/known of here
