I believe I may have started a similar thread a long time ago, but I'm too lazy to find it. I think that the normals nowadays are different than back then (save for a few usernames I've never not seen floating around)...so I'm going to start a new discussion.

I will start with a question. What comes to your mind when you see the Rebel flag / Southern Cross / Southern Battle flag or some image representing/incorporating it?

Does the flag incite rage? Does it excite a little southern pride in you? Does it represent hatred and suffering to you?....and why? What is your opinion of the people who would desire to fly it in public?

I'll leave it here for now and wait to see if anyone is interested in the subject before I ramble any further

Well since one of the greatest factors in splitting into the Confederate States was to prevent freeing the slaves, I don't see how anybody could feel proud about this flag. That's like wearing a swastika.

For the most part, the Confederate Naval Flag is flown as a symbol of Southern Pride and for the most part not secession. The South and the Midwest are the most patriotic regions in the USA, especially the South. I am from the South, but I've lived outside of the country too.
