We're all aware of the quest system here at AG, but some of us still may remember the days of the old point system, known as Armor Points, or simply AP. We're also all probably aware that the AP system is no longer used here... however, the old AP values and ranks have certainly not been forgotten!

Thus, I came up with the great idea to have a place where you can calculate how many AP you have, regardless of how many you had when the old point system was abolished or whether you were even a part of AG when it was in place.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR AP

Simply take the number of games rated, comments, forum posts, games submitted, and merits, and multiply them each by their respective point values. Then, visit the ranks table... which I still somehow have memorized... and match the total number you just calculated with its corresponding rank.

Here's a basic online calculator you can use... unless you're a math whiz and you prefer to do it all in your head! =P

POINT VALUES

2 AP for each game rated
2 AP for each comment
1 AP for each forum post
20 AP for each game submitted
25 AP for each merit

RANKS TABLE

These were the ranks used for the AP system. Certain ranks are gender-based.

Wood Serf: 10 AP
Iron* Serf: 25 AP
Gold Serf: 100 AP
Wood Squire: 225 AP
Iron Squire: 400 AP
Gold Squire: 625 AP
Wood Knight: 1200 AP
Iron Knight: 1750 AP
Gold Knight: 2250 AP
Wood Lord/Lady: 3000 AP
Iron Lord/Lady: 3500 AP
Gold Lord/Lady: 4000 AP
Wood Duke/Duchess: 4500 AP
Iron Duke/Duchess: 5200 AP
Gold Duke/Duchess: 6000 AP
Wood Prince/Princess: 7250 AP
Iron Prince/Princess: 8500 AP
Gold Prince/Princess: 10000 AP
Wood King/Queen: 12000 AP
Iron King/Queen: 14500 AP
Gold King/Queen: 17500 AP

* Iron is interchangeable with silver.

EXAMPLE

I have...
2,583 games rated
3,858 comments
1,043 forum posts (not counting this one)
0 games submitted
0 merits

2,583 x 2 = 5,166
3,858 x 2 = 7,716
1,043 x 1 = 1,043 (this one should be especially straightforward =P)
0 x 20 = 0
0 x 25 = 0 (you can skip this step if one or more of your totals is 0)

5166 + 7716 + 1043 = 13925

So that would put me at 13,925 AP. Looking at the ranks table, my rank would be Wood King (close to Iron King!)
