Are PS3 games are gonna work on the PS4 console?

PS3 games won't work on PS4. You can upgrade a few games to a PS4 version for like 10 dollars, but older games obviously won't have this option.

If you mean backwards compatibility, then no.

But Gaikai, a company bought by Sony recently that specializes in cloud-based gaming, might make a streaming service that allows games from the older PlayStation consoles to be streamed and played over the internet. However, this won't happen until somewhere around 2014.

Unfortunately it is not backwards compatible.

Although I can wish as much as I want I guess I am going to have to skip good ps3/360 games like bioshock infinite, the last of us, and GTA V. Although some games like assassin's creed IV black flag, and batman arkham origins are also coming to the ps4/one. however on the bright side, it is yet to be confirmed forever
