3. You'll get one 'get out of jail free' card, which is an unofficial thing where I'll get you out of the first situation where'd you'd otherwise die, be crippled permanently, or be imprisoned for life.

You are a settler of a new world, sent on one of the best ships ever constructed to settle the newly discovered lands. Whether you'll be a missionary, leader, soldier is up to you.

The old world, where you are from, is essentially the same as Europe in 1500's except that there is a small amount of magic. There are the occasional wizards and enchanted items and a couple types of monsters. You can be from Spain, England, France, or Portugal. However, instead of landing in North or South America, you'll be landing in a mysterious high-fantasy continent of which little is known.

Mage: A magician exploring magic in the New World. +5 to magic and mana. Oak staff.

Gambler: Deep in debt, seeking to escape debts in the New World. +20 luck, -50 gold.

As the ship Lady Samantha, named after the wife of the lord sponsoring the trip, touched down, you went down the gangplank to look at the settlement set up last year. It currently consists of a few log cabins around a central area where you assume meetings are made. Your next decision should probably be finding some lodgings, possibly even one of the tents brought on the ship before more permanent houses could be established, but then this New World seems to emit a sense of adventure that's begging you to explore the forest.

I changed it to rusty sword because a clean sword is too advanced for the start. You might also want to add a couple more points to accuracy, because currently you'd just be doing wild swings, and stamina because you'd only be able to go for a short while and if facing multiple foes you'd be very tired after the first guy.

*Sorry, I missed the eleven under luck. Two ones look a lot like one one.*

You borrow one of the tents off the ship and look for a suitable location. Luckily you find a perfectly smooth spot on soft grass close to nearby river which provides the settlement's fresh water. Being quite weak though, you had quite a bit of trouble driving the pegs in. After an hour, you finished setting up and had worked up quite an appetite. You should give back the wooden mallet and get some lunch now.

After asking the already settled settlers some questions about where you can purchase items, you find that they haven't set up anything really yet and the only merchandise right now is venison, from the plentiful deer in the forest and the logs they've cut down. They also boasted that a single meal of the deer here can easily last you hours and that you ought to look into buying some, though you don't feel very hungry.

You get back onto the ship and start searching around for a tent. After a little while of talking to the captain, you manage to convince him to let you borrow one of the high end tents. Feeling prepared to go down and start looking for a spot to set up, he offers to sell you the tent permanently for ten gold. You know this is a good price and that the tent could be very valuable if you plan to go exploring or camping, and even if you don't you might be able to sell it for more later. He also says his name is Captain Graphis and that the name of the settlement is Mardsville.

Walking back into town from the ship after returning the mallet, you ask the inhabitant of the first of the three log cabins about food, and he says that currently they don't have anything formal set up, but he'd be happy to share the large deer he caught a couple hours ago, skinned and cooked now, with you over lunch. He seems quite friendly and it would be nice to get to know everyone in the settlement if you're going be living here permanently. He also says his name is Dan and that the name they gave the settlment is Mardsville.

He also gave you a mallet for free because he realized no one else on the ship were using any of the tents so the ship didn't need anymore. Carrying the folded tent under your arm, you go into town. Looking around you see three log cabins, all with chimneys, inbetween the beach and a very thick forest. Deciding you should probably go to set up your tent, you are suddenly overcome with a strange sense to explore. Almost before you realize what you're doing, you are inside the forest. From your new vantage, you notice a silver glint a few meters into the forest.

You try to circle around it to see if it might be a beast with shiny claws or something like that, but you are never able to get a good look at it. Before long though, you realize that you've gone a good distance away from Mardsville and don't know how to get back. But when you look back at the silvery glint, intent on at least knowing what it was, you can no longer see it.
