Well I'm new the art forum and I haven't posted much here before, but I'm going to post some of my own original art here now.
I created the following using Microsoft Paint.
Let me know what you think!

Quasi-Emotional Color

I like the combination of the dark red and the light green. Not sure how I feel about the yellow dots.

The dots are meant to break up the linear feel from all of those lines. More features mean more depth. Although they may not be the best choice, I feel that I need to add more things like that to my art to make it pop out. Any suggestions for additional depth and effect?

I think the blue spray-paint overlay detracts more than it adds to the depth. Perhaps if it were behind the subject it would have more the desired effect, although I can't help thinking that the spray-paint function is out of place no matter how it is used.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Hum. Perhaps it wouldn't appear that way if I chose I spray color that was very close to the other colors in the picture? Anyway, I like your idea of putting the spray behind the subject is the best idea. It shouldn't draw attention away from the subject if I can pull it of mastafully.

I am curious...are you using MS paint? Why that medium?

Yes I'm using MS Paint.
1) It's free
2) It's the only medium I have
3) It isn't overly complicated

Anyway, thanks omegap12! I'll try to keep them coming although I'm having trouble with data overage warnings from my internet provider.

You should play around with paint.net. It's also free but more powerful than MS Paint. Of course, more power means more complexity. But it's a nice stepping stone into Photoshop (though I find Photoshop waaaay more intuitive for some reason).

Some new ones of some kind of robot/mech thing. I know it's kind of sucky, but here it is anyway.

Alrighty. Have you ever seen Transformers 3? That might help you understand some of the features. Anyway, those two long chain-like things on its back are used for balance much in the way a cat uses its tail to balance itself when out on a limb. Those Decpticons in the freeway chase scene in that movie had those long tail-like apparatuses. Also, they're hallow and can be used to store rounds for that big pulse cannon in its right hand. The thing in its left hand is essentially a giant prototype shield that is useful for close combat as well as deflecting incoming shells.

No.

The thing in its left hand is essentially a giant prototype shield [...]

Okay, so it's being held perpendicular to the point of view. I was unsure because I didn't realize that the object on the other side was its thumb.

I know that shield looks way too 2D. This picture is a little old (about 3 years); I wasn't as good at drawing then. I just found this picture while rummaging through some old drawings of mine the other day. Sadly, I lost many of my drawings from two years ago and earlier during a recent move. I had a HUGE portfolio of tanks and gunships that I wish I could find.
Anyway, thanks for your feedback.

Thanks! Nice armatar by the way!
I guess I should find some time to get out the pencil and paper again. Robots like that with all of those interconnected moving parts take a little while to draw. Also, I'm at my limit for data usage for awhile in regards to uploading/downloading, but that shouldn't be a problem. I can always chance it ride someone else's internet!
