Hi,

i was thinking what grade a killing gem needs to have to beat endurance without shrines.
lets do some math
for an yellow black we have

----------------------- skip this part if you dont like math
dmg=base_dmg*critical_hit*black*skill_talisman_mods
critical_hit=0.8*base_critical*black
black=hit_lvl*black_base

when we upgrade this gem once we get:
dmg=base_dmg*1,58*critical_hit*black*skill_talisman_mods
critical_hit=0.8*base_critical*1,38*black
black=hit_lvl*black_base*1,09

so we get for the dmg:
dmg=base_dmg*1,58*0.8*base_critical*1,38*hit_lvl*black_base*1,09*hit_lvl*black_base*1,09*skill_talisman_mods
=base_dmg*1,58*0.8*base_critical*1,38*(hit_lvl*black_base*1,09)^2*skill_talisman_mods
=2,59*base_dmg*0.8*base_critical*(hit_lvl*black_base)^2*skill_talisman_mods

so black is squared and we get *2,59 per upgrade. so for lvl n we have now:
(not correct because lvl 7 are a lot better then lvl 6.)

dmg(n)=2,59^n*base_dmg*0.8*base_critical*(hit_lvl*black_base)^2*skill_talisman_mods

so when we want to kill an monster with on hit 10^m hp we need:
10^m=2,59^n*base_dmg*0.8*base_critical*(hit_lvl*black_base)^2*skill_talisman_mods
->
m*log(10)=n*log(2,59)+2*log(hit_lv)+2*log(black_base)+log(base_dmg*0.8*base_critical*skill_talisman_mods)

since log(base_dmg*0.8*base_critical*skill_talisman_mods)+2*log(black_base) is very smal we can just drop that. log is base 10.
so we have

m=n*log(2,59)+2*log(hit_lvl)
->
n=(m-2*log(hit_lvl))/log(2,59)

n=(m-2*log(hit_lvl))/0,413
-----------------------

n=2,42*(m-2*log(hit_lvl))

so to kill a monster with 10^99 hp with one hit hit we need a black/yellow gem with
n= 2,42*(99-2*log(hit_lvl))

with a hit lvl of 100 we need a gem of grade:
n=2,42*(99-4)=230 .....

so... endurance is not beatable without shrines.. makes me sad :/
since hit rate is caped it wont help much...

Endurance on X4(one of the last levels) wave 999 only has E71 or E73 hp on haunting....where did you get E100 from?

Also, a grade 90 should be able to beat an F field looming endurance, if specced.

on looming its beatable without shrines, need some proper wake of eternity taking away 70% of their health per use tho

Have to check last wave HP on looming and something like F1.

ok. for E73 we need a gem of grade about 166.
specced or supergem just changes a "few" % which is irrelevant. if a specced gem is 3 times better.... 5E70/3 is still something E70..

psorek: would be nice if you check.

On field F6, looming, with no traits other than orblets set:

actually, I guess I got higher HP on wave 998, since it was a giant wave with a few enhancements. E+61 on field F6, looming, no traits but orblets:

My tries:

F1 with no traits at all.

They are 1e10 times weaker

orblets doesn't affect monster HP does it? crazy that significant of a difference between F6 and F1

I have no idea. They may buff indirectly (eg by wave count). It has cumulated with a wave number and HP difference between F1 and F6 and here is the effect. With shrines endurance seems rather beatable though.

As far as I can tell, health scaling is determined by four things.

1) First wave health.
2) Wave number.
3) Difficulty level.
4) How far into endurance are you?

Could someone do science on this and give me health amounts for waves 50 and 250 for F1 no traits Looming, F1 no traits Haunting, F1 all traits Looming, F1 all traits Haunting, X4 no traits Looming, X4 no traits Haunting, X4 all traits Looming, and X4 all traits Haunting?

The two different maps should demonstrate the difference as far as first wave HP goes, difficulties are obvious, no traits VS all traits is to delay the start of endurance to theoretically see if you can get a lower wave 999 health by cranking all the traits up. I specifically picked wave 50 because on F1, trait usage determines whether or not you're in endurance by then and on X4 you're NEVER in endurance then. Wave 250 because you'll be well into Endurance by the time you get there on F1 regardless of your settings, and on X4, difficulty and traits will determine how far you are into Endurance when you get there.

Rule of thumb, with no difficulties set, is x10 hp every 30 waves. It's not exact.

note: try to get three consecutive reaver waves to average out for your tests, there's a fair amount of noise added to the various stats. (it's most noticeable in giants, which sometimes have a low-hp high-armor wave followed by a high-hp low-armor wave).

also note that hp curve outside of endurance is very low(for looming and glaring haunting is all the same). So max traits looming = less hp than no traits looming.
