ForumsGamesGC CS: Better method(possibly) than Psorek's semi optimal 16-combine formula

I came across this on accident, if you believe.

It stemmed from me misunderstanding his formula.

But I was thinking and writing out formulas(or something) during school and came up with an idea for an even better gem.

And I was right.

This is Psorek's formula, in a Grade 8 dual OB gem.

His method is -

A=(g+g)+((g+g)+g)
B=((((((g+g)+g)+g)+g)+g)+g)
C=(g+g)
D=(((B+C)+C)+A)

Where G = dual OB gem(he makes 16 of them, and then does the above with them)

My gem, on the other hand, looks like this-

http://i.imgur.com/GdsYA2n.png

Here's my formula-

Here, gB means a bloodbound grade 1 gem. gO means a mana leech grade 1 gem.

A=(gO+gB)+((gO+gB)+gO)
B=((((((gO+gB)+gO)+gO)+gO)+gO)+gO)
C=(gO+gB)
D=(((B+C)+C)+A)

E=(gO+gB)+((gO+gB)+gB)
F=((((((gO+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)
G=(gO+gB)
H=(((F+G)+G)+E)

I = (D + H)

Finished grade 5 gem.

To repeat, just subsitute the grade 1 pure gems for Grade X - 1(where X = grade of the mana gem) supergemmed gems that are supergemmed by psoreks old formula(my formula requires dual gems to work).

If you just use psorek's formula to upgrade after G5, you lose about 4% extra specials. Which continues to grow, I believe.

So there it is. Comments, critiques? I think this works because the Specced Method works- see how I make the grade 4s dominant in one color? And then combine them.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this stuff c:

Looks like it is better...take a look at these grade 11 supergems(G14 equivalent mana cost)

Psorek's

Mine

Now, it's almost 20% difference. Just wait till I get them to grade 14s.

F=((((((gO+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)

as i am not so good in reading formulars (the (((( make me crazy ....)
may i understood creating F =

combine g0+gb
combine the resulting dual 5 times with gb ?

Wait for some time, I'm discussing his method with Thunderrider - still believe in my maths, it's unlikely to be wrong.

No.

F = line in formula, like ABCD in your 16 combine.

Go+Gb + Gb x5 = Grade 2 OB + 5x G1 B And actually, only do that after following psoreks 32-spec method.

Because you misunderstood his formula? If yes, how so, just that we don't make the same mistake.

now i am totally confused.

when i read your last line it's exactly what i wrote:

combine the grade 2 dual gem 5 times with a grade 1 black gem.

E=(gO+gB)+((gO+gB)+gB)
F=((((((gO+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)
G=(gO+gB)
H=(((F+G)+G)+E)

in my words for example:
E = create 2 dual ob grade 2 gems.
combine one of these with a grade 1 black gem.
then combine the both ob gems.

as you have created your own formula A-I what is the point about this
32-spec method ?

I'm confused by your question lol.

There's only 1 g1 black gem.

And, I'm guessing this method is only useful if people are sick of having to keep going back and forth between your 32-spec and their game. I know I have a HARD time memorizing that...this is cake in comparison C:

only one black gem ?

E=(gO+gB)+((gO+gB)+gB)
F=((((((gO+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)+gB)
G=(gO+gB)
H=(((F+G)+G)+E)

i don't get it. in line F you combine a ob gem (already combined with another b gem) four times with b gems or not ????????????

before you answer, i think i can't read this (((( **** correctly.

normally if you would do what i wrote above about line F it would read like

(o+b) + b +b +b +b +b

(not already combined ob+b as i wrote in my last post ....)

but as you put all in ((( i think the formula is totally different .....

Basically .. under the order of operations, you are correct, in that you should only need one set of parenthesis.

HOWEVER - this game is a bit wonky.
(o+b) +b +b +b +b +b

Under normal addition, you do not even need the parenthesis at all, because 3+4+5+6+7+2+1 all equals 28 regardless of how you choose to add the numbers together. 7+11+9+1 = 28, 3+9+13+3 = 28, and so on.

Here, however, (o+b) + (b+b) + (b+b) +b is NOT the same thing as (o+b) +b +b +b +b +b.

Nested parenthesis do make it hard to follow sometimes (especially when you get 3 or more sets all nested together) but he is trying to be exact in describing which gems you add to which other gems.

astroshak, your formula i can read, it seems correct:

first:
combine o+b
combine b+b
combine b+b

combine ob with bb
combine the result with bb once more
combine the result with b

Wrong. Its combine OB with 5 pure blacks one grade lower.

And point moot, anyway, as psoreks is the best

ok, that's the second formula you wrote then ...

just to show i got it ...

No, 2 parts of the same formula.you get 2 grade 4 gem and turn it into grade 5.

Also, just saying, unless you want to use the mega complicated 32 spec of psoreks, if you want to use his 16 combine, use mine instead.

Grade 5 - 5% better
Grade 8 - 12% better
Grade 11 - 15% better
Grade 14 - 19% better.

Unfortunately, 32 spec nullifies it lol.
