I already know what merits are, but how do I know that my stronger game reviews are getting noticed? I would really like to get a merit, but I don't want to work hard and have my work never be discovered!

Every once in a while I feel like submitting a 4-5 paragraph review and I comment some of the qualities (special effects, graphics, music, etc.). I've gotten in the habit of doing this for a few days, so I probably have three well-detailed reviews.

But here are my questions:

1) How can I tell if my more detailed reviews are being noticed?
Even though I enjoy writing and suggesting helpful things to others, my main goal is to get one of those prized merits. But I really don't want to right these monstrous reviews and never get a pat on the back, either!

2) Does voting up (the green arrow) work like flagging a comment; does it notify a moderator?

I'm sure I have a few more questions, but I really don't have any on the top of my head at the moment.

Note: Sorry if some questions are hard to understand... sometimes I write too fast and forget to double check my work. hehe.
