OBS "Open Broadcaster Software" is a recording program that you can use to record your game play and make video walkthroughs of your favorite games, and share it with us on Armor Games. =)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEPS

1.) Open OBS
- If it is not already installed. Download the software for the appropriate OS, install then run the program.

2.) Open your browser and navigate to your game of choice.

3.) Setup OBS with the appropriate dimensions for recording.
- At the top of the program open the "Scene Collection" drop down menu and select "new"

- Enter AG recording's (or any name will do) then click "OK"

- At the bottom of the window there are 2 boxes. "Scenes" and "Sources". Right click on Sources > Add > Window Capture. Then enter the name of the game your are recording into the window and click "OK"

- The Window Capture properties window will automatically pop up allowing you to choose custom settings. For now lets just focus on making sure the right window is selected and the Sub-Region covers the game play area. If the correct window is not listed just make sure the game tab is selected in your browser, then click "Refresh". Then proceed by clicking "OK".

* Depending on which game you choose the dimensions might vary, so you will need to match the encoding settings to the Sub-Region area. Write down the dimensions from the size box. The IMG shows as 800x600.

- At the top of the program open the "Settings" drop down menu and select "Settings"

- With the settings window open click on "Video" and set the Base Resolution to match the size of the Sub-Region area. then click "OK"

* It should match the dimensions from the size box in the previous steps.

- With all these steps completed you can preview your settings by clicking "Preview Stream" to the right of the Scenes box and Sources box. If the recording area is not satisfactory, review the steps again. Otherwise move on to the recording phase.

4.) Make your recording.
- If you prefer recording the game sound's you might want to mute all other sounds as to focus only on the game sound. (I prefer recording on mute then adding voice and audio later with an editing software)

- If you have a mic and want to record yourself giving tips during the recording. Plug it in and adjust the audio and mic properties to get a balance of game audio vs voice audio. (It would be difficult to hear what you are saying if the game audio is louder then the voice audio)

- Once you have everything ready to go. Click on "Start Recording" above the "Preview Stream" button.

5.) Choosing the next step
- If you have a single recording that you are happy with you can go straight to uploading on your favorite streaming site (youTube, ruTube, sapo, etc. etc.)

- If you have multiple recording's or simply would like to edit your recording then you will need to use an editing software.

* If you are getting an error while playing the .flv, you might not have the necessary codecs Installed. Download and install CCCP or K-Lite.
