Repost because I misread the question:

You're forgetting that there are things other than real numbers: imaginary (or complex) numbers. These are such numbers as the even-powered roots of negative real numbers. Complex numbers exist on a separate vector plane and can be expressed as functions of real numbers of as vectors (modulo-argument form). A real number can also be expressed this way.

Come to think of it, the sum of all vectors may come to zero too. But since woody thinks the answer isn't zero, I wonder what he's getting at. Uhm.

How about 42? :P

The answer is Zero. That is because of negatives.

So, he italicized "what" in the sentence above. Is there something we are missing in the question? Some alternate meaning?

If we add all numbers together...
...then we get several answers.

*zero, if you add in the concept taht every number excluding zero has a negative versain of itself.

*3, all numbers together are three words.

*18, if you count all the letters.

Honestly you cant realy add letters together except in algebra or unless you mean you add I and T to form IT or something crazy like that.

Even with complex numbers you would still come out with zero. Working with a number system like the natural numbers or the integers modulo. The answer could range from 0 to infinity.
