After a nice turkey and pie dinner... *brp* ...ooopss... (oO) ...gosh, I was so busy eating turkey, I almost forgot to launch the next Armatar Contest!! Sorry for that everyone!! ...ahem, right... but, we can still look back at three very successfull editions before this new one, which were: the Pirates, Halloween and Sushi Cat edition of the ArmorGames' Armatar Contest!! Once more, a lot of wonderful artwork was created / entered and those that contributed are entitled to receive their deserved Merit! Need to make this happen... *adds it to 'asap' list*

So, the next stop, and this is the last, ultimate, final one (orrr... is it?! Ho Ho Ho...), in the Armatar Contest Editions for 2015... *clears throat* ...dumdummm... sing along everybody!!

"It's the mooooost... won-der-ful tiiiimmme... of the yearrrr!!!

Yes! It's time to dress for the cold and have those wonderful snowball fights, make your own snowman, decorate the Christmas tree, wonder what Santa's going to bring you, prepare your Fireworks and stock up on Champagne! This Winter Edition will behold every theme during the Winter Holidays, which means Winter Holidays (duh), Christmas, New Year, Chanoeka, Sinterklaas, you name it! BUT... FIRST, we need you to make some excellent art for the Armatar Contest! The rules never changed! Here they are once more...

ARMATAR CONTEST GUIDELINES :

ne: All entries must be appropriate. They cannot be offensive or profane in nature. Keep it clean!
The entry must be square and at least 512x512 pixels in dimension.
Your entry must scale down well to 100x100. So if it looks good in its larger form, make sure that it will still look good when it is scaled down to the armatar size. Here are a few suggestions about this :
Sometimes keeping it simple is better. If you go into a lot of detail, it might not look as great when you scale it down. So keep in mind what the Armatar size will be and check often how it looks when it is scaled down.
Remember to save a lot while you are making it! Better to delete 20 -in between made- save files later on, than ending up with a finished piece you don't like or an end result that is showing up blurred when scaled down...
If you are able to do vector, by all means! That can help with the sharpness of the image. However, since they are small in Armatar size, this is probably not a big issue.
All entries must be fitting to the current contest's theme. If a certain entry is debatable to whatever extend, a Mod or Admin will give the decisive and final ruling for submission.
An entry must be completely original. You cannot use entire (or even elements from) pieces of artwork made by someone else, the entire armatar must be 100% created by you! A Moderator can ask you to provide conclusive proof that the entry was created by you entirely and you are obligated to provide this when asked for.

Plagiarism will not only exclude your submission by means of disqualification, it will also exclude you from participation in any future contests AND will have further consequences!

CLOSING DATE OF THIS CONTEST :

The contest will remain open untill mid/end January, so there's more than enough time for you to enter your artwork! Closing date will be announced whenever it's time...

WINNING SUBMISSIONS :

Every participant of an official edition of the Armor Games' Armatar Contest receives a well deserved Merit for submitting one -or more- entries to every separate edition held. This means a maximum of one Merit per participant, per edition.

Alongside this Merit for your participation, we now have a special non-game Quest to award for the winning submissions of the Armor Games' Armatar Contest!! This special Armatar Creator Quest will be bestowed upon the creators of the winning entries that were chosen for every contest held from now on. The winners will receive this Quest to show our appreciation for their outstanding work. Wear this Quest with pride!
Winners will be chosen after the edition is officially closed;
The winning entries are non-debatable, results are final;
The Quest can only be awarded to a user once per year. If a particular user wins several editions during the same year, they will only receive that particular Quest once, as we can not award a particular Quest a second time;
Every year there will be a new Armatar Creator Quest, which will be achievable for every participant;
As a special appreciation for their outstanding work, all the winners and their winning entries of every edition will be placed into the Armatar Creator Quest Winners Hall of Fame!

Allright! Now grab your pencils and paper, and/or your mouse, and start making your wonderful original works of art! As always... be creative and amaze us! =)

Right, that's that... now, where's my hot coco? Ah! *blows* ...hmmmm... Yumm! ^^

Alright! Here's round one of my submissions. Simple yet bold, they look great at armatar size. I hope you like them!

Here is my entry for this contest -

When I was young, I used to wonder if people ever knew about snowmen and building snowmen, if they were living in a place where it never snows. But I think the happiness and fun that people get in playing with snow is somewhat a kind of privilege which can be enjoyed by those who live in places where it snows. But, if people want snowmen in places where it does not snow, what can be done? That is where technology comes into play. With the introduction of concepts of technologies like 3-d projecting, hologram projector and many other things of this kind, snowmen can be created in places where it does not even snow. Here is a drawing of what it might look like.... (The snowman in being projected in winter, in a place where it does not snow. You can also see a winter constellation in the drawing)

How is it?

Here's another hand drawn one. Sadly, my lousy phone camera can't pick up the intense colors very well, so.
Anyway, I put a lot effort into it even though it may not look like it; I first drew the entire thing as a sketch and then essentially made my own color to code drawing where I then used high quality felt pens to color it. Again, it looks much better in person.

@Shoeminor your full size image must be exactly 512x512 pixels in size, and the armatar size rescaled image must be exactly 100x100 pixels in size. Both of yours appear not to be anywhere close to this.

@Shoeminor if you're having trouble resizing your art in Gimp, you can save your art and then load it into a good photo editor where you can resize it by manually entering the pixel length and width that it needs to be. Save as .png image and do it again for the armatar sized image. If you are unable to find a way to size your pictures correctly, they will probably be disqualified from the contest.

I'll be disappointed if I don't see at least one armatar that's Star Wars related.

Question: I drew something and would like topost it here, but can I edit it? I mean, I drew it on paper, captured it and then edited it?

So long as you don't use other peoples' work during editing, that should be fine.

Yeah, I do this all the time. I'll draw something real nice on paper, but my pathetic phone camera can't pick up or differentiate between the colors so I use this good photo editor to fix them up again. Just like Nicho said, don't introduce anything that you didn't make on your own, say like clip art or a funny meme thingy.
