As the ship rocked with the beating tides that whipped in the gathering stormwinds the deck of the Grey Reef was swarming with its hasten crew. This is the second storm in just a fortnight at sea and the muddling galley had another two months to reach its destination in Nidal. The Grey Reef was an older ship by most standards and its captain relatively new for its previous master died not too long ago. Gregor Crowe was a young for a captain and had a reputation to do almost anything for an extra gold piece. The rugged crew of the Grey Reef was of mostly veteran sailors who knew the ship well. Captain Crowe had outfitted the lower deck with a make shift brig to transport prisoners and this was its first journey with such cargo. Nearly a dozen men in chains are hold up in the lower deck, all criminals headed to a mining camp for their incarceration in the Mindspin Mountains.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sit in the bottom deck caged with a dozen other prisoners, its been two weeks and there is little more than an arms length of room between you and the others. Your things have been taken and whats left of your clothing has been sodden and torn from the harsh treatment you have been dredged through for humiliation over your crimes. You can hear the thumping of foot steps on the upper decks and the manner in which the ship heaves you can only say that the seas are rough. There is almost no light down here say lantern light that shines through barred trapdoor.

What are you doing at this moment?

(Sorry but I got some players lined up and this is for those who have been approved..and yes I am playing my self while Game Mastering :P)

So lets make this interesting, all the items will have to be scavenged!
If you want to get anywhere you might want to use perception to look around r some other skill
------------------------------------------
Baas sits arms bound with iron manacles, he kicks the huddled balled person next to him with a light heel. "Hey you. Get these things off me" he jingles the chains on his arms

The ship rolls a bit rougher as the waves begin to grow in size. Rain begins to beat against the wood of the ship and more men shout above.

The room is about 10 x 10 ft, the celling is only 5ft high and theres a small amount of light, something like candlelight pouring down from a iron bar trapdoor. As far as dark vision you can see fine, though its in black and white.

Nothing in the room besides other prisoners, a few of them have manacles but most do not. The floor and walls are that of a ships hull made of wooden planks and have a curve to them.

--------------------------------------------

Baas grumbles "Got any better ideas then to sit hear groveling. Storms keep'n the crew busy we can us this time while their eyes are not on us.", he whispers "Incendo" and an old nail shines with light in his hands.

The first roar of thunder echoes and the ship starts to creak with the growing furiousness with each minute that passes

"Yes oranges, not like we have much to use to get out of here with"

After several minutes of thinking Baas removes his tattered shirt and tears it into small pieces, with a wave of his finger the air around his finger glows with an orange hue of light and jumps out and ignites the cloth.

"Quickly give me your shirt we need to fuel the flames"

"Fire! Fire!"

Smoke gradually fills the room above and the cells you are locked in

As the struggle continues in the lower decks the storm picks up and blows furiously, The short handed crew has a hard time maintaining their course and many sails lines snap in the high winds leaving the ship at the mercy of the currents.

The escaped prisoners cause more of a panic as they attack the crew in an attempt to take over the ship. The poor unarmed prisoners died in the battle except for two, As the fire quickly grew the lower decks became filled with smoke and the passengers sought to escape from the suffocating atmosphere. One prisoner managed to rush past the others with brute strength while the other slipped by like a silent whisper.

The two prisoners managed to escape on one of the life boats as the battle for the ship continued. Like a flare of light in the blackened night the ship began to burn. The storm carried the two prisoners off on the black waters where they drifted in the storm. As the night fell the storm continued to ravage their small vessel and weariness fell unto them.

You wake in the small vessel the storm has passed and early morning has shown a small island not a thousand yards away. You land on the beach and there are several pieces of wreckage, crates, barrels, and corpses scattered about.

What do you do?

Baas drags the lifeboat further onto shore so its out of the water and wont drift off
----------------------------

Currently theres a solid wood crate in front of you, there no way to open it but if you want you can try a strength check to break it open or you can continue to look around. There are 3 corpses, two of which are tangled in some wreckage near you and further ahead about fifty yards a thick growth of jungle. The beach you are on is sandy in most places to either side of the beach you can see cliffs and rocky outcroppings some 400 or more yards away, you are in a small bay as far as you can tell.

Baas says " No Idea where the hell we are but I think we should find some supplies. Walking around half naked and unarmed will leave us worse off here than on that ship"

Baas moves towards one of the corpses, one laying alone on the sand

He strips the body for what its worth, A Backpack, A heavy steel shield, a light mace, a spell component pouch, a shirt, some sandals, 8 gold coins
