i read in an article that 55% of people from age 10 to 20 play more flash games then games on their 360 wiii or ps3. Is this a surprise to you.

Well, there are more varieties of flash games, and 55% is only a little above half, so no, this is not a surprise.

More types of flash games, and flash games are generally free, vs. $40-60 per game on a Wii, Xbox or Playstation.
