There is no way the Georgians will beat Russia in all out war.
Georgia can't do it alone, but if its allies come into play, then it will get big.

Well first off Drace you have to realize alot of people like me may not be familiar with the Armenian and Azerbaijan conflict. Also I'm not exactly sure who owned that territory, but I think your right, that it was Georgia that invaded the territory that they are fighting over.

The last thing we need is to have this go into a larger scale war. Russia in itself is a dominant super power. In my opinion Georgia and its allies stand a 32% chance of repelling the Russian forces.

@thelistman,this reminds me of when Texas wanted independence from Mexico, and America helped them. The only difference is that Texas became a State in America.
Also @ Drace, you make it sound like it will become the next WW3,even though that's probably not your intention.

hey the reason i think they attacked is because basically all our troops are out at war and only recruits and a handful of majors are here.

The US is an ally, but I don't think it will get involved.
Also @ Drace, you make it sound like it will become the next WW3,even though that's probably not your intention.
Well WW1 started out by just the assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary.
Also, at the time of war, any country that has held a grudge against another jumps to a fight.

There is no way the US will get openly involved in this conflict. The key word is "openly." Of course the US is going to send arms, ammo, and money to Georgia. But there will be no clear evidence of it. The US cannot put itself in open hostilities with Russia again.

Well Russia hasn't fully recovered from the breakup of the SU. At this point, the US can beat Russia, but yeah their not going to risk it. Concerning the Us is in an economic crises.
