Of course they should not ask, mods are chosen for maturity, activeness, kindness, willingness to help, etc.

People cannot ask to be mods. Well they can but they won't be chosen.
Anyways, you have to have a good presence in the Community, not just posting comments all the time.

Just to let you know having a good presence in the Community doesn't mean that you post on every single topic as much as you can. They won't increase your chances of being a moderator.
