First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Thanks, Parsat. Greatly appreciated.

God's Killing Fields

Raining down a hail of shells,
Exploding into their hearts.
Slowly dying, hearing bells,
Dead before the killing even starts.
Screaming pain, lances men,
Soon will come the evitable end.

Tanks of steel across the land,
Shredding the German frontlines.
Machineguns, laying a line of bloodied sand,
Shredding all not killing by the mines.
Lead and rifles crack the air,
Filling the consripts with despair.

Running into uncertain fate,
People screaming out their fear.
Hear the booms, it's too late,
Screaming as they feel life disappear.
Gone away to heaven or hell,
Where they go no one tells.

Gas inhaled, soon to die,
The neuroagents shall kill you.
Fighting and dying for a lie,
Death comes, one and two.
Falling down, into your graves,
Where you sang songs in your caves.

While it never actually says the word 'trench' in it, it's about the first thing that comes to mind when I hear that word: World War I, which was essentially a trench war. Enjoy.

Sorry if it's a bit violent.

Trench Parade

Running,
Through the muck and the myre,
Tripping
On the bodies and wire.
Falling,
Off blood-slippery cliffs,
You scream and you dodge
Those crippling hits.

Finding
Your friend's gory limbs,
Praying
And singing your hymns
Hiding,
Under corpse's shade,
While they run in the
Trench Parade.

Looking
At the gray dreary cloud.
Thinking
You're breathing just too loud.
Screaming,
As they find you there,
Stabbing, Shooting,
Your skin they tear.

Dragging,
Back through muck and myre,
Moaning,
You're chained to the tires.
Dieing,
Blood streams down your neck,
No going home,
No rain check.

If I Were To Die
By: Teeheegirl123

If I got shot by a gun,
Skeleton legs to weak to run
Shant it take very long
A force through my heart so strong
The merciless one note song

Poisoned through clouds of gas
Lives shattered as though panes of glass
One breath's all it takes
Your lungs, it bakes
And your soul, death then takes

Maybe I'll get blown by a grenade
They'll say "What an explosion it made!"
"In the air it flied...
His trench it landed beside...
And was filled with smoke inside."

In the cold I could tire,
Then freeze with no fire
'Cause deep in the night
There our snipers out of sight
Guns locked onto light

Even thinking of these ways
My fear does not stay
'Cause even if I die,
My final act goodbye,
Would be a peaceful sigh.

Correction, in the fourth stanza, it should say:

There are snipers out of sight

Sorry for posting again!

Hey guys, just to remind you, it's Trenches, not trench warfare. Trenches don't just mean getting blown to bits by raining artillery shells on the killing fields of WWI.

Stains of bloods armound my clothes,
Sounds of sreaming fills my ears,
the dead are all around me,
gunshots whizing past,
feeling pain all around me,
the enemy laughing in my face
as though they could destroy me,
i shoot at their faces am i hear sreams of pain,
then as sudden as light
i fell pain pass through me
with all past me i fall down,

Gosh I hope my poem still counts...
It's about a guy in a WWI trench thinking about what deaths he could encounter, or in other words, what goes through his mind while he's in his trench.

I'm sure it will. The theme is trenches, and since it wasn't specified what type of trenches, anything to do with any kind of trench will be accepted.

Trenches, trenches
which ones to choose?
The ones during the war
in which Germany was doomed to lose?

What are the other types of trenches are there?
I look at my mom and ask her my question,
And it is quite apparent that she doesn't care.. ("> &gt
And now it has become my obsession
to find out about other types of trenches besides warfare

My research isn't fruitful
and now I am lost
I don't know what else to rhyme about
because my computer battery is about to exhaust.

lmfao. I sooo know I am not gonna place with this XD

Here is my flow.
My long-nosed pen.
Creating sublimity; Painting new faces.
Empyreumatic odors never smelled so sweet.

As I finish my masterpiece,
My heart is broken.
I fall backwards unseeing my art.
Drowning in the blood of my friend.
