First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Wow, that was the best chocolate cake I've eaten all year! Ironically, the other one had fireworks baked into it...

It can never be too late if there is no deadline.

By the way, when is the judging?

I had to postpone it because there weren't enough entries.
When there are enough, that's when the judging is.

Hey, what is that
That there bright light
Up in the sky
Up in the night

Oh, could it be
Up there, it lurks
Deep in the night
Red fireworks

Not just red ones
But green ones too
And yellow ones
And pink and blue

All luminous
In deep night's sky
It's beautiful
I cannot lie

There in the sky.
Up, there, flying high.
Numerous pops and sizzles.
Cause hops and giggles.

They're fun in the day.
Leaving an obstruct gay.
At night the beauty is amazing.
Whilst we are lazing.

To one they might scare.
But others can only stare.
We look at the wondrous show.
Knowing soon we'll have to go.

Two times a year we get to shoot.
Yet at the end of the season we get the boot.
It was fun while it last.
It went by quite fast.

I messed up on the other one. This one is the new and fixed.

Was fixing that small one-word mistake really worth posting the entire poem a second time?

no we need one more

the fireworks come in every color
if you eat when youre full it makes you fuller
one of the fireworks hasnt gone off
when I breathe smoke it makes me cough

they are very very very loud
I have to wear earplugs and a shroud
the sounds are very loud explosions
precipitation can cause erosions

the fireworks are there
you cant see them but theyre there
which ruins the point of fireworks
I think brad pitt is a real jerk

We have seven entries now. That is definitely enough to judge.

Happy july fourth
America's greatest pride
Crackling fireworks glow
The nation comes together
Oh, what a beautiful sight

Adios and Crab, yes, we finally have enough submissions. But I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell me so. I can count, thank you very much.

Gold Medal

The bells at midnight ring. Clang!
The fire-works begin. Bang!
Launched straight into the sky. Zoom!
Exploding way up high. Boom!
A bright and fiery flare. Flash!
Combustion in the air. Crash!
The whistle, pure and high. Whing!
I watch the fireworks fly. Zing!
The firework sound I fear. Pow!
For it doth hurt my ear. Ow!
