Prologue
Slimy Ooze trickled across the hard paved surface. Bubbles popped from the green liquid, and hardened on the floor. Damp, musty smells rose from the walls. In the middle of the mess stood a pimp, tall man who wore glasses. He looked like he was in the mid-30s, his hair was curled, he had a short, stout face, and he looked lean and strong, but he smelled like rotten radishes. He was wearing a worn-out lab coat, and seemed to be studying too odd-shaped glass bottles with a weird fluid in them. After a few minutes, he put the bottle down and clapped his hands, causing a dust cloud to form above him. He coughed, and then picked up two new glass bottles with more fluids in them to study. Finally he mixed some of the fluids and it started to bubble and shake, as if something inside was struggling. The shaking grew more and more intense, rocking the table with each swaying motion. Above the midst of all this voice, a deep evil laughter could be heard. The scientist shouted, "Soon the world will be mine! Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" The rocking intensified even more, until the glass started to crack. Suddenly, it exploded, showering ooze all over the place. The light bulb above flickered, and went out. Then, everything was black. Everything.
Chapter 1
"Ding, ding, ding!" The bell rang to signal the end of school and the start of summer. The kids got up from their desks, and raced outside. Among the huge throng of kids were 14-year old Jake Albert and his friends Jordan Jackson and Jay Panini. Right after they got out of school grounds, the group of friends headed for Jake's house for some ice cream and to make plans for the summer. When they got to the house, Jake groaned.
"I forgot my keys in my locker at school!", he said. He quickly ran back in the direction of the school with his friends hot on his heels. When he got near school grounds, he groaned again. The fence gates were closed and locked. But he couldn't just wait until his parents got home and opened the doors for him because he forgot the keys. Plus, somebody might steal them if they staid there for the whole summer. He jumped over the gate and landed on his feet on the other side. Jay quickly followed him but Jordan staid at the gates, unsure.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?", Jordan asked.
"Not to worry, we won't get caught or anything. I bet all the teachers went home already. Plus, we'll lie low.", Jake answered. But Jordan still wasn't convinced.
"I'll wait for you here", Jordan said.
So Jake and John went without him. When they got to the school doors, they realized it was locked.
"Old", Jay muttered, taking out a very fancy looking pin. He stuck it in the lock, turned it and the lock popped open. The two friend went inside, careful not to make any sounds. They climbed the stairs to the second floor, where Jake's locker was. On the way to the locker, Jake accidentally stepped on a rubber duck. SQUEAK! Jake and Jay froze. After a pause when nothing happened, they continued on, wary of everything on the floor. After an abrupt few minutes, they got to the end of the hallway, where Jake's locker was located.
"Oh no!", Jake breathed in horror.
"What is it?", asked Jay.
"Somebody...hacked into my lock. It's not in it's usual place!", Jake answered, swinging open the locker.
