What happens if a person posts a merit worthy comment on the same game but the comments are totally different. Is the member denied points to that second comment?

I thught it was pretty easy to understand, but whatever.
Let's say you post a merit worthy comment on a game and get a merit for it. Then a month later you post another merit worthy comment, do you get the points for the second meritted comment?

I think oscnk meant if a person posts 2 comments on a game (i.e. if you posted a terrible, weak comment in March and then forgot about it, and decided to write a merit worthy comment in September) will they still earn a merit.
I'm not entirely sure myself, which has prevented me from commenting on certain games! So an answer would rock my socks off

No, I think he means somebody already got a merit on a game, but then he writes another merit comment that gets noticed. Does he still get the merit again, is that what you are asking?
I don't know...

Ach, sorry about the double post, I didn't realize oscynk posted. Anywho, it would make absolutely no sense for a moderator or admin to give you two merits for one game. In fact, there's a bigger chance for both comments to be deleted and you losing a merit.
But if you're referring to two different games, and two different comments, then yeah, I'm sure you can earn both merits. People could earn tons of merits in a day if they really tried :P

Huh? How do you know?
Do you have proof?
Has it happened to you or someone you know?

But what if you forgot you wrote a comment already, or you didn't know you got a merit for that game?

This is actually something I have been wondering for a while. Are the mods/admins aware of who gets a merit on a game or what...?

Well, the best advice for that? Check the comments. I usually do that for familiar games I play. For example, I hadn't realized I wrote a comment for Hustler, so basically, I go back a few pages, press CTRL + F and search for my username. That's my system. Honestly, if you're not sure, the onus is on you to check, so if you happen to lose a merit for double posting or whatever the case may be, it's your fault.
