well its gotten to rock band 2 and GHWT. My opinion is that rock band 2 owns GHWT. WHY?
Rock band:
Has new challenge mode, which allows you to go up through the difficulty of all the songs on different instruments. Then it has battle of the bands where online bands perform to compete against each other for higher scores on a variety of setlists. Then it also has world tour again, which now you can solo, or play online, or play on same console with friends. Also you character doesn't just have to play one instrument anymore, you can play any.
The clothes, and instruments look amazing on Rock band2 also. As well the increased character custimization increases performance dramatically. For those who say that the songs on rock band 2 are too easy... Well i gotta say that some of the songs now come quite close to dragon forces through the fire and flames on gh3. (which is just there to piss ppl off mostly, as the guitarist for Dragon Force can't even do that song... he just got lucky a cpl of times and they recorded that.. dont beleive me? listen to them live.. He makes more mistakes than a monkey on steroids). Ex. Visions, any megadeth song, shoulder to the plow, thrasher, painkiller, battery... etc..

Exactly like rock band 1... not even joking. Set list is pretty good thow, but the guitars look all cartoony and to big, and the character custimization sucks balls... The guitar for world tour thow looks pretty cool, and is probably a bit btr than the rock bands... As for the drum set.. nothing can compete with rock band 2's actual drum set with dbl bass pedal and 3 cymbols.
