To get an armatar... First you go to Control Panel which is located under your Username in the upper right-hand corner next to Logout. You'll be taken to your Edit Profile screen. Right above all the Edit stuff, there's something like Profile, Armatars, Games and Friends, click on 'Armatars'. Now you'll see all the current available Armatars and all you have to do is select one and hit 'Update' and the very bottom of the page. To unlock armatars you'll need more AP, which is gained a number of ways(like this, posting!).
Oh by the way... You're current armatar(and all the ones in the last two rows of the Free Armatars) are temporary and will only be available for a short time. They were made by fellow AG users and were only to celebrate for Halloween, I think they're only supposed to be here for another week or so. When they disappear you'll have the 'blank' armatar again and will have to choose another....unless you want the blank one, of course. Just so you know =)
