well, you could be saying 'd@mn you!' so it will be replaced...

People often do sh*t or something along the lines of that. If it is just **** it means they have just sweared. Mostly.

Why does it bother you?

Actually, when someone is posting words that are asterisked out, it can be considered flaming...
I think that counts too, when they are doing it on purpose and not just forgetting about the censoring.

So yes. I think it counts as cussing. Though it does depend on what is asterisked out and how it relates to the rest...
