You haven't exactly explained what you mean. Tell us more about the switch. I don't really are as I don't live in America anymore. This topic sounds interesting.

starting in February 2009, All 50,000 watt TV stations will be forced to change to a digital signal. If you have satellite or cable, you don't need to worry. If you have purchased a TV in the past few months, you should be fine, but you should check the user's manual on your TV just to make sure. If you have an older TV and still get your signal with the old "rabbit ears", you have 3 options:

1) Get cable/satellite.
2) Get a new TV with a digital converter inside.
3) Buy a digital converter box. This will be hooked up between the antenna and the TV and will allow you to pick up a digital signal.

For most people who need to make this choice, the third option will be the best/cheapest.

Yeah, asagent said,it's not until feb 09..and by now many people have pre-rodered or already own a digital t.v. switch..and that gives people plenty of time, soo no rush and i think theyre might be a few cases against somebody.

I forget where, but a city had "tested" the conversion and 80% of its residents were unprepared, and because of that, they couldn't watch T.V. for a full 24 hours. But I'm saying HURRAY out loud because all of you will finally see how awesome the Weather Channel is in Digital HD. Futuristic Amazement that's what it is. Apparently the biggest set back are the seniors of the US, because they are living on retirement funds and cannot afford a modern T.V., so they will have to buy a converter box, or else they cannot watch T.V. =(

As for me, I have a 50" Sony flat screen that can play in 1080P. , so I'm very happy at the moment.

I have Dish Network so I shouldn't be worried, but I still want to see how TV will change from analog to digital.

It's amazing, let me tell you. Now I can tell that the pretty girl on the weather channel is not so pretty anymore. In all seriousness though, things are CRISP. I saw a fly land on the Indianapolis Colt's coach and he slapped himself, it was hilarious. I even got to see his red slap mark on his neck.

I'm all for it... Digital is much better than what my family was getting before... We can actually SEE what we are watching. I'm not all about the good-looking weather people, but I like to see which Hockey or Football team is winning. Now if only we could get a TV that isn't older than I am....

I actually wouldn't waste the money on a HD tv. I don't watch enough of it justify the ridiculous cost. But my tv is pretty new and honestly how many people aren't hooked up to cable or something?

I don't really get the point of forcing people to switch. I mean if they want a better picture and have the money, buy cable or satellite. I have satellite but I wonder what people are going to do if they have old TVs and have not changed yet. I mean the stock market fell and economy is not looking so great right now.

Do not confuse digital with HDTV. They are two different things.
