Wow. I just got to the last pages of Programming Action Script 3 (in the Flash Help section). Why do they save all the good stuff for last?

There is some really good stuff there. Sadly, they assume that you understand exactly what they are talking about, so not everything is in Layman's Terms. There was also a shortage of examples of how to use the code.

Are there any tutorials out there that explains advanced topics?

Once I get these deeper things down better, I will make video tutorials so you guys can learn them too.

kirupa.com and senocular.com are great resources for all kinds of interesting flash/AS stuff. There's a great AS3 Tip of the Day thread that Senocular made on the Kirupa forums.

As for the actual topics that you're interested in, can you be a bit more specific? I'm looking at the PDF of "Programming ActionScript 3.0" that I got from Adobe's site, and the last section seems to be related to the security model. It does have Shared Objects in there, which are pretty important for saving user data.
