I have a feeling that our current president, Barack Obama, is not going to survive one full term. Stepping up to office, he is now vulnerable to assassination, more than any other president so far. Since he's the first non-white president, there will be more racist criminals after him; I'll be amazed if he survives two full years in office. I think he won't last that long, but I've been known to be a rather pessimistic fellow. What do you think?
You can't just make assumptions about this sort of thing. What you're doing is saying things to reassure yourself, while what you should be doing is ruling out the possiblities and consider what could happen rather than what you think will happen.

What the crap do you think this thread is about? Even if he does get assassinated (which is unlikely, but probable) life will move on. I've taken this into consideration, more than once, but I've decided that his body guards expect this kind of thing. Assassination is unlikely...
Criminals are smarter than they were 25 years ago; they know how to set complex traps and are often willing to die to get what they want. They can fool metal detectors with nonmetal weapons that look like everyday objects. It's not like Obama will just be sitting in his office and the assassin will suddenly just walk in and shoot.

I am not just making assumptions. I do not mind if Obama is assassinated. Like Flippin said life will move on. Anyway, again like Flippin said bodyguards are anticipating attacks. Assassination attempts, whether successful or not always provide learning experience. Why do you think that the president never walks by himself in public?
Obama's secret service unit has been doing a stellar job so far, whenever he leaves the white house he is completely guarded and his whereabouts are simultaneously impossible to follow. On his inauguration they roped off several streets, then unblocked them and blocked another set. They did this several times so that it would be impossible for anyone trying to assassinate him to predict where he would be.
No doubt there will be many attempts, but security is to good.
I don't even think there will be one attempt. You know only republicans/conservatives think of these kinds of things. Politics shouldn't be mixed with life and death. If they are in your life, you need to learns some excellent morales...

You're the one who's making assumptions as far as I can tell. When you're pointing your finger at someone, you've got three more pointed straight back at you.
I also highly doubt that Obama will be assassinated. To match the possibility of greater threats due to his race, the Secret Service has taken even more precautions than usual in order to assure the President's safety. Have you seen his car? They dubbed it "The Beast" for a reason.
You know that Obama has to speak in public, and, as I've stated before, people can fool the metal detectors when they get in. When Obama is speaking, he's completely vulnerable to attack...
