Although I do like some Styx songs, I know more REO and I like their style a little better. Styx uses way to much distortion in their songs. REO just has that classic rock style that I like.

The Stone Roses vs. The Verve

The Stone Roses are an alt rock band from Manchester emerging from the "Madchester" genre some examples of songs are the amazing I am the Resurrection , Fools Gold and Waterfall.

While The Stone Roses were the start of a genre The Verve are the beautiful last breaths (-ish) still alt-rock with some shoegazing and other stuff thrown in examples of songs are: Bittersweet Symphony, The Drugs Don't Work, Sonnet and Lucky Man
