I think they're a great band. I'm mostly into grunge but i think their 60's image is awesome. My favorite song would be Last Night.

They used to be one of my favorite bands. I own all 3 of their records, but after buying "First Impressions of Earth" and listening to a little of it I was really disappointed with it and lost interest in the band. "Is this It?" and 'Room on Fire" are both great records though and I still listen to them from time to time. I would even consider "Is This It?" one of my favorite records.

Opps, 3 posts of the same thing, sorry it was laggy but yes, they are great albums but you go to look deeper into you're self and listen and pay attention to the lyrics, they do everything extremely good, the beats sounds, the way the instruments and also the albums are almost one of their best ,almost one of their best are played and the way they write the lyrics. Their music are amazing, and if I messed up what i wrote, i am sorry I touched something and it pasted in the same places, what is wrong with me today,

First Impressions of Earth was a great evolution in my mind. The first two albums were distinctly different, don't get me wrong, but the third album brought in a level of musicianship and writing that was, at least what seemed to me, more developed. Julian's lyrics on First Impressions are awesome, as well as the arrangements are far more complex than Is this It, and Room on Fire. I love that simple sound they had, and I don't like all of the songs on First Impressions, but i can appreciate the change as a musician myself.

Also, check this out, The Strokes and Regina Spektor doing a song together called Modern Girls an Old Fashioned Men http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT07ApGjmX0. Sweet song, not a sweet recording, but the liveness is good. So here is the song from the EP it came from http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/trac … oned%20men.

Also, Albert Hammond Jr. is a ****. I don't know if i can say that word but I have to. My wife and I (girlfriend at the time) met him and Fab outside after one of their shows in Houston and he was just such a jerk I couldn't believe it. However, Fab was the nicest guy ever. He took some girls phone and spoke to her mother for a good while, and politely signed autographs.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I loved the Strokes for that really simplistic sound, though. So when I bought "First Impressions of Earth" I was expecting a record in vein of the first two, but was really let down instead.

That song's great. Julian and Regina's voices go together really well.
