Substitutes for an .avi? I'm a total newbie at video making I pieced together a bunch of "Fraps" in Windows Movie Maker, but some people can't play .avi's or something. Any help for a file to substitute .avi?

I haven´t heard of anyone who couldn´t play .avi... what I have heard about is people not having the right codec for the video. Don't know if macs can play avi though, now that I think about it.

In any case... you could try .mov, since quicktime is pretty widespread

Tell them to download Media Player Classic. It can play .avi and is better then WMP anyways...

That's not the extension that matters, but the way the video is encoded. Video can be encoded with various codecs, and to play the video user should have the same codec with which the video was encoded. There are some basic ones in windows, but not all. Just recommend people to download a pack of codecs from http://codecguide.com , for example.
