try spinning it around and getting some momentum, then stop spinning it when it lines up with the hole. Unless you are talking about general use, in which case, it is pretty hard ot use. to get it started you have to tilt it towards where you want to go, then tilt it back the opposite way, bringing the wheel forward. I prefer not using the unicycle.
