After much pausing and a lot of ctrl-clicking, I made this:

Ok, now the trick, how to crank out grade 11 gems (you can actually get grade 13's this way):

Make SURE you have a steady mana growth, depending on fluctuations I say you want at least 140,000 MP.
Then click Ctrl-tab 3, and click grade 6 Gems.
Now hold Ctrl and click combine tab, then click on a gem, repeat several times until it's all done, this results in a grade 11.
To get a grade 12, repeat once.
To get a grade 13 keep going but you have to pay attention because
at some point you will have two 11's and a 12.

Not sure if you can get a 14 this way, by the time I get a 13 I deploy it then build another to stack on top of the deployed one, giving me the 14.

Other notes...
That level was lined full of traps, ALL of which had at least a grade 8 orange mana stealer.
I got to dropping level 9's in there and got about 1/3'rd of the way through, but I think I played that crazy level for 4-5 or 6 hours straight and basically I just got tired of it.

Anyhow, the secret to beating that level is MP stealers in traps all the way from start to finish, then high level prismatics in the towers.

It helps to have all the skills maxed out (except gem explosions).

You should put R/O in traps. This way you can get max 10,1 mana per hit * 6,65 and hit upto 6 monsters at a time. Also the speed will be maxed faster!

And it take long to creat suchs gem, for score you can better combo high grade + lowe grade gems, so you can get high dmg...

well, if you'd only give us a way as simple as this to create level 13 DUAL gems this way if a level has more than 3 colors :) And yes, R/O traps are better than pure orange. Nevertheless, a good effort you've made.

You sure about ctrl-TAP, because the tap doesn't anything for me...

And with using this way it's possible to great a dual gem, even if there are more colors in your inv?

he meant the buttons in the game, with third "tab" being "create gem" spell. I use "shift+3", or first pressing 3 then Ctrl-clicking inventory to create as much gems of the selected grade as possible.

I also use shift-3/ or 3 ctrl to creat gems. Then shift 6 a few times to combonat them...
