There is an island on Greece which is called Ikaria. Maybe the name of the game is taken from this island.

I used to play many of Gameforge's games, (Ikarium, Gladiutus, and Ogame), but recently just stopped, got too bored.

p.s. I even had nanite factories on my Ogame account
