Anyone interested in this? If you sign up, you could start with... say 10000 VP (virtual points). You could bet them on certain sporting events posted. I could keep track of the points and post events to be bet on (ie: baseball, football, hockey, etc.), and keep track of standings.
The person with the most VP by the end of, say a month could win something. For example, a merit. However, I have not talked to the mods about a merit or any of this, and it is doubtful that this contest will have a merit prize, because it doesn't require creating anything.
I won't sign up, since if I am running it, that will be kind of unfair.
How many people should we have sign up before we start? I'm thinking we could have a continual sign up once we get started, so people can just join in during the course of the betting.
If we get enough signups, I'll create a new "official" thread so that we can get the betting underway.
But is this going to be one endless event? or an event per league? or what?
And you'll have to specify which leagues are available for betting and stuff.
This will be difficult because some people love the NFL, yay they can bet on like...16? games, then the people who like baseball get around 160 or something.

That is a problem. I'm thinking about 7 games per week per league. The reason I'm not putting it at one game a day is because, some leagues only play on the weekends and stuff.
It would be nice if I was able to edit my posts so I can have a list of all games able to bet on each day. Or would it be better if I just created a new thread each day for the sake of simplicity?
As well, I'm thinking that big events like the World Cup, Super Bowl etc. should have a higher stake.
I guarantee you'll have to include MLB,NBA,NHL,NFL,CFL!!!,EPL,UEFA,aaand...hmmm...thats about it for major sports right? Nascar would be too difficult, as would F1...
I love poker, but that would also be too complicated, except for the heads up world championship because that feature 1 v 1 competition...
Oh, and with the 2010 olympics coming up in the city I live in, I would die for something in there, might be too difficult for betting on different events, maybe a pool for total metals and gold medals or something...
Its all on how much work you're going to want to do Shayneii =P
We should have a bit of everything soccer, basket, football, tennis etc. SO it's more interesting, some know stuff only about few sports so everybody is covered.
I'd like to do something for the olympics too... but that might be too complicated. If the league lasts this long, then will think about it then
As well, I think here are the betting limits...
You can only bet: 50% of your VP per event on normal events 70% of your VP on playoff events (only in leagues like NHL, NBA, NFL, etc.) 90% of your VP on championship events (such as the super bowl, stanley cup finals, etc.)
Obviously if you are betting on multiple events you cannot bet this much.
