here are some good combinations of units made in colony , for use in online multiplayer mode

forge only combination 1

both you and your partner builds forges. one makes phantoms other makes anti air. units cannot defeat this combination easily but missiles can kill phantoms in no time. possibly, best combination for low-tech modes

forge only combination 2

both you and your partner builds forges. one make sakata anti air and other makes sakata spider(ground only) useful for dogfight, since spiders can heal themselves.

long range combination

both you and your partner build outposts, one makes snipers, other makes black queens. since snipers are cheap, they can be made in large numbers. but can be scattered easily by missiles. however missiles can't even scratch black queens.

forge-outpost combination 1

there are many combinations here. however this combination makes use of ground units only, those who can attack both air and ground. one makes goditz and other makes gladiators.

forge-outpost combination 2

one of the best ground combinations here, it combines deadly hover tanks and awesomely armoured anti air. no explanation needed.

ultimate unit combination

most of people say this one is silly, as it involves higher risk than any other combination, however if done perfectly it will wipe of the floor in seconds. missiles are useless against it. as you might know, it revolves around black queens and gladators.

outpost only combination

only combination i could find possible by making outposts only. make hovers and black queens. hovers will rule grounds, black queens will dominate skies.

dogfight means only air -> no sakata
and 1bq dies very fast against 10 scouts

Black queens+scouts is better than scouts only I believe in dogfight.

Forge and outpost 1 will be wiped out by hover tanks, forge and outpost 2 will be wiped out by massed snipers on hit and run (enough to 1hit 2 or so hovers at a time).

Long range can be taken down by scouts as cannon fodder and then a single queen.

And like Dandraer said, outpost only will be destroyed by scouts, and then phantoms.

Easy prey for sakatas and a tank unit, (chronite tanks work just fine when spammed on low tech)

Easy prey for Sakata/Hover tanks anyone?

Not a very well-thought-out guide.

Tier 1 combos (not that effective unless you catch the opponent very off guard): Romans/Chronites, Chronites/Marines
Tier 2 combos: Phantom/Sakata, Sniper/Sakata
Tier 3 combos: Hover/Phantom/Sakata

The tier 3 combo is by far the most common, sometimes some gladiators are in the mix as well depending on the enemy's units. Pretty much if you get to the tier 3 combo and you know how to micro with a good teammate, you win a lot.
