give me hints and where the secrets in this game tell me anything that could help me,i know i could go look youtube, but that is old stuff, and i need new stuff.I have xbox 360.
Well I know as soon as you hit level 10 you should go to Nocturnal's Shrine (Which is little ways south eastern of Leyawiin) It's the easiest mission ever, but after you do it you get probably the best item in the game. It's called the skeleton key and it boosts your security by 40 AND gives you infinite lockpicks as long as you're holding it. (So you can basically just mash the auto-attempt button when lockpicking)
It's pretty good for a character not built for lock picking.
So, Oblivion makes it really easy to raise levels. Things like, in the very beginning of the game, when you are in the prison cell, after the emperor passes you, you can sneak in your cell and increase the level all the way to 100. It just takes some time. Also, if you gather some rats around you and stand there holding the block button, your level will increase surprisingly quickly. I got lvl 50 block before I left the sewers in the very beginning.
Finally, I would highly suggest killing umbra and taking her sword (umbra) as early as possible. I can't remember the name of the ruins she is in, but they're fairly near the imperial city, by Old Bridge or something like that. If you go to the game options and lower the difficulty all the way, you should be able to kill her no matter your level.
You could try just playing the game. It's pretty enjoyable, so it's not like you're pulling teeth.
Easy tip to remember: There are numerous hidden treasures in caves and dungeons, etc. Scour every area that you're in. And thankfully, the loot gets better the higher you level up.
Like I said, I can't remember the exact name of the ruins Umbra is in, but her sword is equal to (if not better than) Daedric weapons that you usually can't find until you're a fairly high level. It also has a soul trap enchantment, which is very useful if your character is a magic-user (it's also good for making money if you trap high-level souls). The ruins are located, if I'm not mistaken, south west of the Imperial city, right across some old bridge that is named (I think) Old Bridge.
Also, with the leveling, it just takes some time. I do have a high tolerance for tedium, so I can sit around doing nothing pretty easily. But, for the block at least, it only took me ten minutes of having rats jump into my shield to reach level 25 block, and not much longer to hit 50. I spent a good three hours or so in the sewers and managed to get my block, heavy armor, light armor, sneak, and acrobatics all to lvl fifty. That is a pretty ridiculous amount of time, and I wouldn't expect someone to do that for fun. But it does work.
a great thing to do is to create a 3 fire damage on self spell (destruction) and cast it on yourself next to a bed and when you get too low in magicka/health just sleep for 1 hour and youll get your stats back. You can also do this with any other type of magick just pick the spell that takes the least amount of magicka and put it at the lowest frequency you can.
For a thief a great way to get your skills up is to sneak in the prison. Or for security its to get the skeleton key then sit by a door in the imperial city and hit auto untill it unlocks then go out and wait 24 hours for it to relock then repeat.
for a warrior the rat+shield trick is pretty good for armor too.
Basicly dont do the main quest past the part where you talk to Jaufre the first time untill your level 18 then every time you close an Oblivion gate you get the best type of sigil stone.
Glitches a good "glitch" is to save before you grab the sigil stone of a oblivion gate and re load it untill you get the one you want
Another is the 2 duplication glitchs the first is if your game hasent been patched where you can pull back an arrow but dont realease it then open your menu and "click" your arrows then drop the item you want after hitting the drop button close the menu and it should spawn the same amount of items as the arrows you "clicked"
the second one if it has been patched is where you need 2 or more of the same type of scroll.First you open your inventory and select the scrolls and keep your "cursor" above it for about a second then go to the item you want without changing it for all items to a select one like weapons or armor then you drop the item and it will spawn the same ammount as the number of scrolls.
Theres alot more and you dont have to youtube it go to the weapsite www.uesp.net for everything about the elderscrolls saga.
its allways a good idea to go to www.obilivion.wikia.com its a wikipedia deriviate for oblivion (obviously), and it can tell you all about quests, items, dungeons and their loot and so on. second time i beat this i used it. i only got to lvl 25, but thats just not what i do... sneaking just aint as easy when you aint go no bow in your palms... just play the game, most of the good gear is made from a combo of equipment and sigilstones, or deadric shines (which you also may see everything about on the site) but just play it... who cares if you close all gates, or meet lvl 50 or some random stuff
